Proud to be a Horned Frog

Wow!!  What a week and what a game!!  Last week was so much fun and so much work!  We lived and breathed TCU football even more than we already do and it was a blast!  I think that we might have worn purple everyday of the week.  Starting on Tuesday, the kids and I had to go up to check on the GameDay setup.  Hud and I were talking about the Frogs beating Utah and he exclaimed, “You gotta believe in Coach P.”  I knew then that we were in for a long week of talking TCU football.

The rest of the week was filled with the air of camaraderie and TCU spirit around Fort Worth.  Mayor Moncrief declared Friday as “Go Purple Day.”  People all over town were wearing purple and many of the downtown buildings were lit up purple. 

Saturday morning started early with ESPN GameDay!  It was fantastic.  The Campus Commons was filled with students, alums, and fans having a great time on a beautiful morning.  The Chancellor served purple iced Krispy Kremes and the signs were fantastic.  The game that evening was even better, probably one of my best if not the best ever.  A packed and loud purple stadium helped spur the Frogs onto a 55-28 win over Utah.  The players wore their new Nike Combat uniforms which were very cool in my opinion.  At the end of the day, Nelson, Hudson, Eleanor and I were able to share this special TCU day with our whole family, all except for two, who are TCU grads!  It was pretty memorable for all.  Here are some pictures to remember the day!
