A very special project was officially dedicated on September 3rd. The Lee Cook Walk of Champions was used for the first time by the Brenham Cub football team at their home opener. Indeed a special night for my family in honor of a very special person. The idea began with some of dad’s dear friends, and the project became a reality due to the efforts of a community, which is what makes me so proud.
The Lee Cook Walk of Champions is a tunnel from the field house to the football field at Cub Stadium. The Cubs will enter and exit the field through the tunnel. It is a place where fans can gather to cheer their team.
Sports, especially football, was a huge part of my father’s life. He was often a champion. What I admire about him the most is that he took the skills that he learned in sports and applied them to his daily living. This is what made him a champion in all walks of life, and that is how I will remember him and how I will be inspired to live my life.
